Edge of Darkness

Mel Gibsons first lead in eight years

PLOT

When Mel Gibsons daughter is mistakenly murdered he vows to track down her killers, believing the bullet was meant for him he starts to uncover that maybe it was his daughter who was the target.
It is a good solid performance the film keeps you on the edge of your seat enough and plenty of action and twists and turns.
Ray Winstone is brilliantly comical.

I give it an 8/10 there are better films on the shelves but this can hold its own and worth watching

Law Abiding Citizen

Starring Gerrard Butler and Jamie Foxx

PLOT

Gerrard Butler plays a husband and father who watches his family slaughtered and vows revenge when the justice system lets him down.
This film has more twists then my bottle opener and i watched most of the film with my jaw dragging on the floor.
It is very cleverly written and hard to know who the bad guy is, its slick and fast paced and is non stop from start to finish.

A definite 10/10

KICK ASS

Ok todays review is Kick Ass

Synopsis - Dave Livewski is a regular high school student who loves comic books. One day he is inspired by all these comic books to become Kick-Ass, a superhero with no powers. Later, he is joined by Red Mist, Hit Girl and her father Big Daddy and they form a vigilante team, fighting drug dealers and vandals.

Its written by Johnathan Ross wife and  i wouldnt be surprised if he had a hand in it, it has Final Destination like shock moments, not sure whether to laugh or gasp, now it is rated R whatever that is but guess similar to PG, that the shocker would say 14+

Now did i like it - Hmmmmm its different but it is one of those films where i am to old to "get it" but if too young well could be scary lol, thats where it lacks to me doesnt really have a market, i lost interest near the end but first hour was funny and i almost went on ebay looking for a costume, definitely one to keep 16 year old boys quiet but suggest leaving them to it.

Review

With so much surrounding the relationship status of these two its easy to forget there was even a film after watching it i can see why. Its another ok film to come out would i want to pay £6 to go see with a further £5 for popcorn - no chance, it tries to be funny but it seems to be same old gags we seen a thousand times before in your typical romcom, the chemistry that was supposed to be boiling over well i didnt see it, add it to your collection for sure but get it in the half price sale.
